Antigone is actually a tragedy by Sophocles where a generous action is penalized by California king Creon. Haimon, Creon's kid, plays an important character in the story. In scene three, lines 55-94, Haimon uses his convincing skills in talking to his father Ruler Creon. He blatantly conveys about his opinion toward him, Antigone, and what he feels Creon should do. He performs this effectively using the rhetorical gadget of Passione. Throughout the story, Haimon says many infamous and downgrading things about his father, making the audience hate Creon. " Your state of mind terrifies them-everyone” (Antigone, field 3, Range 62). This quote demonstrates that Creon is an openly angry person, a tyrant king that lots of are afraid of. Haimon goes on to explain how Antigone should not be reprimanded for burying her close friend, but Creon disagrees and wishes to kill her. " …no woman offers ever, so unreasonably, Passed away so shameful a fatality for a good act” (Antigone, Scene 3, Lines 66-67). This quotation makes the viewers feel compassion towards Antigone. She's being given the ultimate punishment intended for wanting to shell out respect to her brother, someone who she adored. In addition , it helps establish a standard understanding that Creon is a ‘bad' person. In conclusion, Pathos is definitely the rhetorical system used most effectively by Haimon. Passione is the rhetorical device of emotion; that makes the market feel equally sympathy and hatred for the personas in the material exhibited. In the play Antigone, Haimon explains his father in such a way to help make the audience hate him and sympathize to get Antigone.
