The Nike Firm is the world's leading provider of tennis shoes and apparel. The company takes its name from the Greek empress of triumph, and provides fulfilled its reputation of being victorious in the sporting great industry for more than a decade. For many organizations Nike had become synonymous with the evils of globalization as the company became a target pertaining to accusations that products had been manufactured in " sweatshops" applying child labor, working extreme hours underneath hazardous conditions while becoming paid lesser quality wages. This paper, depending on the case research Nike: The Sweatshop Debate authored by Charles T. L. Hill in his book International Organization: Competing inside the Global Marketplace (2009) will analyze the legal, ethnic and moral challenges confronted by global organization; examine the roles that host governments have performed and summarize the tactical and detailed challenges facing global managers at Nike.

Legal, cultural, and ethical challengesNike offers manufacturing production facilities in Philippines, China, and Vietnam. Nike does not include full control of these production facilities they are subcontracted out to impartial businesses that then use local residents. Nike continue to carries allgewaltig power in regulating how a companies are operate in these countries. Globalization is a form of growth for companies which can provide positive incentives for the area community.

Values presents a challenge for Nike as these countries have another type of perspective about what is honest and suitable when it comes to operating conditions, salary and labor practices. Laborers are restless and willing to work long hours for a minimum income that does not offer the basic needs of an specific in an attempt to make it through. Nike need to question the legal, social and ethical implications of its global workforce procedures.
