Psalm 27: A Psalm of David

Psalm 27 comes to us in the middle of the book of Psalms. Psalms is similar to a book of poems. These scriptures color a picture and gives us hope, strength, or perhaps informs us of God's love if we need some encouragement. Psalm 27 is entitled " The Lord is usually My Light and My Salvation” and hails from tale of David. This Psalm is a Psalm follows a pattern which goes back and forth among praising the Lord, and desperate to him for support before closing with a solid statement of praise for the Lord and a phrase encouragement. Through the entire Psalm, there is a thought of confidence of the author's belief and that the Lord is with his persons. Each stanza of the Psalm focuses on both praising god, his reassurance, or pleading to the Head of the family. Psalm twenty seven starts off good with praising the Lord; " The Lord is my light and my salvation” (Psalm 27: one particular NRSV). This kind of first quotation gives a little example of pictorial wording. By using the word mild, we know the writer is not living in night. From there this moves to requesting a rhetorical question " Whom shall I dread? ” (Psalm 27: 1) This is considered a rhetorical issue because the viewers already is aware of to fear the Lord. Verse 2 again reassures praise towards the Lord by simply stating that the Lord is a stronghold. The author repeats the rhetorical issue whom shall I fear to end the first stanza. The initially stanza evidently states reward to the Master before moving forward to the second stanza. The 2nd section of Psalms again is usually giving praise to the Head of the family, but in a new way. This stanza gives even more a pictorial description of praise by making use of startling good examples. The first line in stanza two states " When evildoers assail me personally to use my drag -. ” By using the word devour, it provides the audience a visible that is surprising.
