The Sun Motif
The sun, nice and fabulous, is a necessity of all life force on earth. As opposed to the sun warmth and beauty, Albert Camus uses direct sunlight as the motivation in the main persona Meursault's actions in The Unfamiliar person. The sun is actually a complex sign which has many meanings inside the novel. In the day of Maman's memorial to the working day of his death, direct sunlight keeps reproducing again and again through the entire novel, in fact it is a muddiness to the main character Meursault. The sun is a symbol of feelings and emotions, which will Meursault simply cannot deal with. The sun is the main power behind MeursauIt's actions. It also represents the inescapable reality of lifestyle, which is death. The sun also shows the society oppressing down on Meursault. In the new, the sun first appears to be a problem for Meursault during his mother's funeral service. Meursault will take notice with the overbearing temperature from the sizzling sun and said the sun is " inhuman and oppressive”. But once you go too quickly, you build up a perspiration and then get a cool inside the church. ' She was proper. There was no chance out” (Camus 17). The nurse's terms describe a persons condition: gentleman is born into a life that can only end in death. Loss of life, like the sunlight, is bound to happen. It is just a couple of dying for a young age group and old age; Death is an inescapable fact of life. One other way you could look at this quote would be that the church symbolizes the religious world plus the sun symbolizes the physical world (society). You can stick to society by walking slowly and gradually in the sun or perhaps you can leave the world quickly simply by walking quickly, which gets you out of the sun quicker. Either way, you need to face death and go to the spiritual universe...
